Veronica's Music Finally Available To Everyone

Veronica performing live in St. Petersburg, Russia

Greatly inspired by her father's success as member of Detroit's original Midsouth Singers, Veronica ventured out and became one of the lead vocalists of a female vocal group, The "Preacher's Daughters". The group first performed at Axel's Club on Eight Mile Road in Detroit, Thursday through Saturday cocktail hour, a novelty at the time.

After about three weeks the group became the most popular female performing act in the city. Many record labels started making offers, but Veronica wasn't interested in recording deals at the time.

Later, the United States Department of Defense made the group an offer to perform at United States locations of Interest around the world. The group's first engagement took them to Iceland for ten days, then on to the rest of Europe, parts of Africa and Asia. Veronica and The Preacher's Daughters represented USO during the 1980s and '90s.

During one of the tours Veronica was offered a recording deal as a single artist. Her first title, "Last 2 Know", was released in Europe in 1991 by RKB Records of Southfield, Michigan. Other titles followed: "That's Just The Way That It Is" and "Words That You Say" were released by Strictly Rhythm Label.

Veronica has recorded for and appeared in radio and TV commercials. The re-election campaign for Detroit's Mayor Coleman A. Young featured the commercial "Power for Tomorrow", where Veronica performed next to named Detroit artists, among them acclaimed performers Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, Was Not Was, The Enchantments, and many more.

In recognition of her accomplishments for the DOD and USO, Veronica was presented the Key to the City of Detroit, and a Proclamation from the Detroit City Council. Other awards include the Department of Defense Awards for Entertainment and The White Nights Festival of Saint-Petersburg, Russia Award.

Veronica's unique style was greatly inspired by performing artists and musical styles across the board.

"I've always been about a message. Now, my inspiration comes from the most powerful words ever written. Destiny doesn't come to you, but through you."
